PETALING JAYA: PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang’s statement regarding the Pardons Board’s authority, made during a ceramah in Johor last week, will be recorded by the police at 9 am on Monday (Sept 4), as reported by Buletin TV3.
Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Zain stated that the previously scheduled date was postponed due to health reasons.
The Marang MP was originally supposed to provide his statement on Saturday (Sept 2).
“He asked for it to be postponed to tomorrow as he was not feeling well,” Mohd Shuhaily said.
Abdul Hadi is under investigation for alleged violations of Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Act.
The investigation against Abdul Hadi was initiated after he supposedly criticized the Pardons Board for granting pardons that were deemed un-Islamic.
The comments were reportedly made during a ceramah in Bakri, Muar, Johor.
Mohd Shuhaily stated that he had no knowledge of Abdul Hadi’s meeting with former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday.
On Saturday (Sept 2), Abdul Hadi had allegedly met Dr Mahathir alongside four Perikatan Nasional Mentri Besar.
