Cops to take action against illegal immigrant colonies in Sabah, says Sabah police commissioner

Sabah police are developing strategies to address the problem of illegal immigrant colonies in the state, according to Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun. He revealed that the police have been studying the findings of the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom), which identified approximately 500 squatter colonies consisting mainly of illegal immigrants. Jauteh stated that the existence of these colonies is being closely monitored by both Esscom and the police.

Jauteh assured that the issue will be dealt with, and all police districts have received instructions to take appropriate action. This announcement was made by Jauteh during the handover ceremony of four high-powered Harley Davidson motorcycles, out of the eight donated motorcycles worth RM1.076 million, at Menara Kinabalu on October 3rd.

He also mentioned that these motorcycles will be utilized for special assignments, such as escorts, starting from October 6th. Jauteh expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing that it will enhance their assets, particularly in the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department of the State police contingent, where a shortage of resources exists to address the increasing traffic issues.
