TUMPAT: The police are actively searching for five individuals who are believed to be involved in the recent case of a man being fatally shot on Jalan Hutan Kuin in Machang on Sunday, September 17th.
The Kelantan police chief, Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun, revealed that they are facing difficulties in their investigation, particularly in identifying the registration plate number of the suspects’ vehicle as there are no security cameras in the area.
“The case is still under investigation, and based on the information we have received, we believe that there are five individuals involved in this incident,” stated Zaki Harun during a press conference at the Malaysia-Thailand border in Pengkalan Kubor on Tuesday, September 19th.
On the day of the incident, at approximately 5:45pm, the victim, a 38-year-old businessman, was sitting in a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle in front of an auto parts shop when the tragedy occurred.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that two unidentified male suspects, traveling in a white Honda car, approached the 4WD and opened fire at close range, hitting the victim who was seated in the driver’s seat. – Bernama
