    Cops tracking down foreign monk for alleged sexual assault of woman

    A woman in her 30s has lodged a police report in Serdang over a sexual assault incident that took place in Puchong three years ago. The acting OCPD of Serdang, Supt Izuddin Ab Wahab, confirmed that the woman alleged she was sexually assaulted in her own car. The police have recorded the woman’s statement to aid in the ongoing investigation. They are also seeking witnesses and tracking down the identified suspect in the case. The offense is classified under Section 376 of the Penal Code, which covers rape and carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in jail in addition to whipping upon conviction.
