KUALA LUMPUR: The police in Kuala Lumpur are currently searching for the person responsible for sending an email claiming that there was a bomb located at the Bank Negara Malaysia building on Wednesday (Sept 20).
The City police chief, Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, revealed that an investigation has been launched under Section 507 of the Penal Code in an effort to locate the individual who sent the email to a Bank Negara officer.

“Yesterday, a Bank Negara officer received an email informing him of a bomb threat. The Bomb Disposal Unit conducted a thorough search of the area, and after two hours, no explosives were found.
“To apprehend the sender, we will be collaborating with the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission and Cyber Security Malaysia,” he informed reporters after participating in the Respect Traffic Laws operation at Jalan Ampang on Thursday (Sept 21).
Earlier, there was a viral message circulating about a bomb threat targeting the BNM building, resulting in personnel being advised to work from home temporarily due to the closure of the building.
