Recently, a young couple made headlines when they decided to have their wedding photo shoot at the Batu Lanchang market food court, which attracted a lot of attention on social media. Instead of the more traditional picturesque locations, they chose the food court as the backdrop for their photos, sparking much excitement and amusement among netizens.

Many comments were made on social media platforms, with one commenter suggesting that the couple might have met for the first time at the stall selling economy rice, curry, and lor bak (five-spice pork roll). Another person jokingly said that the couple was lucky that the stall owner was off that day, as the wedding gown could have been stained with curry. A third comment jokingly warned that if the couple had overspent on their wedding arrangements, they should be prepared to eat only economy rice from then onward.

According to China Press, the couple spent around two hours at stall 24, the economy rice stall, and the walkways of the food court for their photoshoot on Boxing Day. The stall operator mentioned that the couple was accompanied by four members of the camera crew. He also revealed that the economy rice seller was away on vacation and would only be back next year. The bride and groom were not regulars at the food court and were not related to the economy rice seller, and none of the other stall operators knew them either.

This unconventional choice of location for the wedding photoshoot generated a lot of buzz, with many people chiming in with their thoughts and opinions. The couple’s decision to have the photoshoot at the food court instead of a more traditional setting has certainly caught the attention of the public.
