In Melaka, a couple made a tragic discovery when they found the body of two-year-old Muhammad Danish Mohd Faizal, who had fallen into a drain during heavy rain.
Mohd Arif Zulkifli, 35, and his 32-year-old wife, Nur Hidayah Yahya, came across the body at 9:20am on Sunday (Nov 26) at Taman Desa Baru, around 1.3km from the location where the boy had fallen.
After learning about Muhammad Danish’s fall into a drain during heavy rain at Taman Goodwood, Bukit Palah, the couple decided to help search for him.
Reports detailed that Muhammad Danish fell into the drain while playing with his four-year-old brother when accompanying their mother to her “nasi kerabu” stall.
The child’s mother, Nor Amiza Che Kar, 28, said her son went missing at 3:25pm on Saturday.
The couple from Permatang Duyong left their home at 8:40am on Sunday to assist with the search, and shortly after found the child’s body.
Mohd Arif expressed that issues involving children are deeply important to him and his wife, stating, “We have been married for some time now, and we still hope to have our own kids.”
Superintendent Zulkhairani Ramli of the Melaka Fire and Rescue Department’s Zone One confirmed that no injuries were observed on the victim’s body and that it was handed over to the police for further action.
