KUCHING: Former Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Taib has filed an application for an injunction against his stepmother, Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib, and the High Court in Kuching has scheduled a hearing for October 16. The suit also includes RHB Bank Berhad as the second defendant and both parties have been ordered to submit their arguments by September 18. Sulaiman, who is also the group managing director of Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad, is represented by lawyers Alvin Chong and Jonathan Tay, while Raghad is represented by lawyer Alvin Yong and six other lawyers. Tan Kee Heng and Lesley Ling Lyn represent RHB Bank Berhad.

Earlier reports have mentioned that Sulaiman is seeking an injunction related to the transfer of shares of a private company to Raghad. Sulaiman is the second son of Abdul Taib from his previous marriage with Toh Puan Laila Taib, who passed away on April 29, 2009. Abdul Taib married Raghad on December 18, 2010.
