    Crab seller nabbed for allegedly insulting Raja of Perlis

    A man who sells crabs was recently taken into custody due to his involvement in a disrespectful online post directed towards the Raja of Perlis on the Facebook account of one Muhammad Muhammad. Kangar district police chief ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop revealed that the 41-year-old seller was apprehended in Taman Akasia 2, Changlun, Kedah at 1.30am on Thursday following a police report filed by a 37-year-old individual the day before.

    Magistrate Ana Rozana Mohd Nor of Kangar issued a three-day remand order for the crab seller. The case is set to be investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, as announced by ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop in a statement.

    Furthermore, law enforcement officials have been informed about an additional incident where banners featuring the Raja Muda of Perlis were defaced with red paint last Tuesday. ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop mentioned that this case will be looked into under Section 427 of the Penal Code and the authorities will ascertain any potential connection between the crab seller and the defacement.
