As the Festival of Lights approaches, shopping complexes in the Klang Valley have been transformed into enchanting hubs of culture and tradition. Visitors can expect to see symbolic festive decorations at the mall concourse areas. These malls are visually captivating with lanterns on the ceilings, intricate flower patterns on the floor, and charming figurines.

The celebration at three malls under the Sunway Malls group, themed “Blossom Deepavali,” features different floral themes that symbolize radiant energy and the gift of life. Each mall showcases stunning peacock installations with tails adorned with flowers. At Sunway Pyramid, the ground floor’s water feature area has been transformed into a Deepavali garden adorned with carnations symbolizing love, fascination, and longevity. The main entrance features “The Dancer” installations crafted from recycled materials.

Sunway Velocity is decorated with a peacock tail made of a vibrant tri-color scheme of yellow, pink, and red flowers that elegantly trail across the floor. Children from the National Autism Society of Malaysia were invited to create their own kolam, a traditional colorful art piece to decorate the floors. Sunway Putra Mall opted for fragrant jasmine flowers, creating a delightful atmosphere.

In Da Men Mall in Subang Jaya, there is a white elephant sculpture draped with a blanket of colorful flowers, while a golden ornate carriage is displayed behind it. The mall’s main entrance features an intricate kolam design made from colored sand, rice grains, and flower petals with candles in the middle. Intermark Mall in Kuala Lumpur presents the “Dazzling Deepavali” setup, combining fashion and decor. The mall displays mannequins draped in beautiful sarees with artworks by Shikha Grover, the founder of Kimkara.

Pavilion Bukit Jalil presents a golden peacock sitting on a vibrant kolam in the center of the mall, symbolizing beauty and elegance. Berjaya Times Square showcases a divine elephant topiary covered in green leaves, and 1 Utama shopping center features towering peacock replicas adorned with vibrant petals and a stunning kolam.

Suria KLCC offers a vibrant garden with flowers and swings, along with a captivating peacock installation and a rotating kolam. The center also features a 17m rotating kolam, majestic 4m-tall peacocks, and their 29m-long illuminated tails. These artistic installations, crafted with artificial flowers and colored rice, create a truly immersive and multisensory experience for shoppers.

The decorations in these shopping malls beautifully capture the essence of the Festival of Lights celebrations.
