KLANG: The woman found dead and cemented into a water tub in Kampung Pendamar died from neck compression, according to the Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan. The police have opened a murder probe into the case after determining the cause of death.
“Yes, we are investigating the case as murder,” Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said when contacted on Wednesday. Earlier, South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said in a statement that the autopsy was conducted on Wednesday.
“The initial findings revealed that the woman was aged between 20 and 30. The forensic specialists could not ascertain the estimated time of death as the rate of decomposition had slowed down due to where the body was found,” he said. The identity of the victim has yet to be determined.
He said the 53-year-old foreign man who was arrested in connection with the case has been remanded for seven days to help with further investigations.
“As of now, the investigating officer has recorded statements of 10 witnesses. Investigations are ongoing to identify the individuals involved as well as those who could help with the probe,” he said, adding that police were also seeking the assistance of the respective embassy as well as Interpol to track down the two suspects.
Those with information on the case should contact the South Klang police at 03-3376 2222 or go to the nearest police station.
