PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has stated that the decision on which ministry the single border agency will come under will be made soon. The Home Minister mentioned that although no decision has been reached, he has instructed agencies under his ministry to be prepared to take on the task if it falls under their purview. He explained that security is of utmost importance when it comes to border issues, and as most of the country’s security agencies are under his ministry, he has asked them to be prepared.
During the Budget 2024 announcement, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed that a single border agency will be established with an allocation of RM20 million for maintenance, repair works, and procurement of assets at the country’s entry points.
