KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, who has been the target of baseless accusations, has stated that he is fully willing to undergo investigation if there are any alleged wrongdoings involving himself.
He emphasized that while carrying out his responsibilities as the second-in-command of the police force, he is fully aware of the unfounded claims made by certain parties with the intention of tarnishing his reputation.
During an event at the Farmers Organisation Authority office in Kuala Lumpur, Ayob Khan stated, “Please investigate me and all my family members, I have no problem.”
Ayob Khan did not reveal the specifics of the allegations made against him.
However, he stressed the importance of leaders having the courage to reprimand or take action against their subordinates when necessary, instead of turning a blind eye to their misdeeds in order to maintain popularity.
“If there are wrongdoings involving police personnel, especially corruption, I will not spare them and action will definitely be taken against them,” he affirmed.
He also expressed his dedication to fulfilling his responsibilities as long as he has been entrusted with them.
He mentioned that Dang Wangi police chief ACP Noor Dellhan Yahaya has also been subjected to similar targeting by certain parties attempting to replace him with their own people.
Prior to assuming his role as Johor police chief in 2020, Ayob Khan revealed that he had received “advice” from certain police officers to turn a blind eye to “certain things” that were unlawful.
