In Putrajaya, the Human Resource Minister has revealed that the details of the Gig Workers Commission are currently being reviewed. Steven Sim mentioned that the ministry is working with Universiti Malaya (UM) on this matter.
The review process includes refining the terms of the commission, its functions, and financial management. Sim stated, “An interim report will be presented to the Cabinet in three months,” during the launch of the free contribution initiative at Menara Perkeso on Wednesday (March 13).
Following an announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on March 2, a Gig Workers Commission is in the works. The purpose of this commission is to protect and safeguard the welfare of gig workers in Malaysia.
