JOHOR BARU: Johor MIC Youth has been urged to reach out to more young people to encourage them to serve the community.
Johor MIC chief, R. Vidyanathan, said the state youth wing needed to develop programmes that could attract more young people to join the party.
“People on the ground need young leaders who could serve the community, but many youths may not be interested in joining community programs.
“Johor MIC Youth must develop interesting programs to attract and empower young people to join and serve the community through this channel.
“We need young, committed leaders who could improve the community,” he said.
He said this during the Johor MIC Youth Convention at a hotel on Saturday (Oct 21).
Also present was MIC Youth Chief K. Raven Kumar and the party’s state youth chief R. Satheesh.
Vidyanathan added that Johor MIC Youth must also look into methods of attracting a suitable group on Saturday.
“To attract young people, the state youth leadership must move according to time and develop initiatives that fit the current needs and trends.
“As the party’s current national youth wing is also from Johor, they should also take this opportunity to empower young people in the state further,” he said.
