    The Dewan Rakyat in Kuala Lumpur has given their approval for the Supplementary Supply Bill (2023) 2024 on Wednesday. This bill involves the withdrawal of a sum of money not exceeding RM23,479,669,350 from the Consolidated Fund. The purpose of this withdrawal is to cover additional expenses for services in 2023.

    After being debated by both government and opposition MPs, the bill was approved with a majority voice. The Finance Minister II, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, had tabled the bill for the second reading on Tuesday, March 19.

    The additional allocations from this bill are designated for various purposes. The Treasury General Services will receive RM14,486,540,550, Statutory Funds will get RM4,204,668,800, the Education Ministry will receive RM1,973,724,300, and the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry will be allocated RM1,174,138,000.

    Other allocations include RM687,892,500 for the Health Ministry, RM410,530,750 for the Defence Ministry, RM300,000,000 for the Election Commission, RM153,263,900 for the Public Service Department, RM56,910,550 for the Housing and Local Government Ministry, and RM32,000,000 for the Youth and Sports Ministry.
