The final day of the Third Meeting of the Second Term of the 15th Parliament on Thursday (Nov 30) will focus on wrapping up the debate on the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health 2023 Bill. Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa is set to conclude the debate after the question-and-answer session, before the Bill is put to a vote for approval. The Bill was debated by 26 members of Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 29).
One of the primary objectives of the Bill is to prohibit the sale and purchase of tobacco products, smoking materials, tobacco substitute products, or the provision of any service for smoking to minors.
Additionally, the flood issue is anticipated to be discussed during Thursday’s sitting, with Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff (PN-Rantau Panjang) scheduled to raise the matter during the Ministers’ Question Time, asking the Prime Minister about the government’s immediate measures to ensure the welfare of flood victims at relief centers.
Lim Guan Eng (PH-Bagan) will also pose a question to the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister regarding the positive impact of the 30-day visa exemption for tourists from China and India on the goal of reaching 25 million international tourist arrivals.
