KUALA LUMPUR: The focus of the Dewan Rakyat sitting on Wednesday (Feb 28) will be on the government’s strategies to retain medical graduates in the public healthcare sector after the pension scheme is abolished due to the introduction of the new Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) next year.
Datuk Dr Alias Razak (PN-Kuala Nerus) will question Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad during an oral session on this issue. Meanwhile, Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (PN-Kuala Kangsar) will inquire with Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz about the government’s goal of establishing 10,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by 2025, and whether this target is achievable considering the low adoption rates of EVs.
Iskandar Dzulkarnain will also seek information on the incentives provided to encourage middle-income (M40) individuals to purchase EVs. Additionally, Jamaludin Yahya (PN-Pasir Salak) will ask about the number of completed second-generation Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) homes, the eligibility criteria for ownership, and explanations for any delayed projects.
Following the question and answer session, the meeting will proceed with the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the Royal Address. The current Dewan Rakyat sitting is scheduled to last 19 days, with the debate on the Royal Address by Members of Parliament taking place from Feb 27 to March 7. This will be followed by responses from the relevant ministries for four days starting on March 11.
From March 18 to 27, the tabling and debates on Bills and other government matters will be conducted as per the official Parliament website. – Bernama
