About 4,000 traders in Batu Gajah are expected to register for the MyPatil (Digital Business Licence) app by the end of the year.
Perak housing and local government committee chairman Sandrea Ng announced that MyPatil is a mobile and website app that allows traders to apply for and renew their business licenses without visiting the local council.
The implementation of the system in Manjung a few years ago received positive feedback, leading to its introduction in Batu Gajah as well.
Ng revealed that there are currently over 7,000 registered traders in Batu Gajah, with 4,000 having trading premises and the remaining being hawkers.
Through registration with MyPatil, traders will no longer need to present physical licenses, as they will receive a special device for their premises.
All relevant information regarding licenses and business operations will be digitally stored and accessible by both traders and local council personnel.
Ng also revealed that more engagement sessions will be organized in Batu Gajah, with the Batu Gajah District Council (MDBG) actively participating to provide traders with further information about MyPatil.
The launch of the app took place in March and was officiated by Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
A budget of RM2mil has been allocated for 15 Perak local councils to initiate the program in their respective areas.
