PETALING JAYA: A dodgeball coach accused of sexually assaulting a student is set to face charges on Friday (Oct 6).
The coach will appear before the Petaling Jaya magistrate court at 9am and will be charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which deals with the intent to insult a woman’s modesty. Additionally, he will face charges under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for physically sexually assaulting a child.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid confirmed this information when contacted.
Earlier, the Malaysian Association of Dodgeball president, Datuk V. Radhakrishnan, revealed that the victim is a primary school student. He also mentioned that the association received a complaint from the school’s Parent-Teacher Association Co-Curriculum Bureau.
