During Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the Johor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry will be sending out enforcement personnel to ensure that prices of goods remain reasonable for consumers. Director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo stated that around 200 enforcement personnel will conduct checks at various premises, including markets, hypermarkets, supermarkets, and sundry shops to prevent traders from increasing prices during the festive season.
The ministry has a price monitoring team ready for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. Starting from the third day of the festival, they will be conducting visits to premises across Johor to monitor price trends. Lilis Saslinda emphasized the importance of sellers adhering to rules and regulations, such as displaying price tags on food items.
These statements were made by Lilis Saslinda during her visit to the Jualan Rahmah programme in Taman Mutiara Rini on Sunday. She mentioned that the ministry has already issued seven compound notices to Ramadan bazaar traders for not displaying price tags as required by the Price Control and Anti Profiteering Act 2011.
Lilis Saslinda assured that there is an adequate stock of food items in Johor, including those listed under controlled prices for Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The ministry has not received any reports or complaints regarding disruptions in food supplies.
She added that the ministry is proactive in conducting checks before, during, and after the festive season to ensure a stable food supply. In case consumers notice any shortages of price-controlled goods in their areas, they are urged to report it to the ministry immediately.
Complaints can be made through various channels, including the ministry’s app – EZ Adu KPDN, hotline number 1-800-886-800, WhatsApp at 019-848800, the ministry’s website, or by email at [email protected].
