In Nibong Tebal, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasizes the importance of refraining from excessive comments on the sock controversy and urges all parties to cease discussing the matter further. The Deputy Prime Minister highlights that the management of KK Super Mart has already issued an apology for the incident.
Stressing the need to move on from the issue, Dr Zahid states, “It is better we do not raise the issue any more. We must not go overboard and they have already apologised. We assume that they were unaware (of it) and did not intend (to offend anyone).” These remarks were made during an event at Al-Amin Mosque in Simpang Tiga on Wednesday.
Following police investigations into the vendor company involved, it was revealed that the factory in Batu Pahat was not at fault for the controversial socks. It was determined that the socks in question were actually imported from China.
