According to the King, it is important to recognize the abilities of children with autism and never underestimate them. Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah made this assertion during the launch of Mercure Living Putrajaya, a hotel that showcases paintings by children with autism in its rooms.

The King expressed his concern for not attending the launch, emphasizing the significant contributions made by autistic children. He praised the beauty and interest of the paintings, drawing applause from the audience.

The monarch also emphasized the importance of not underestimating the abilities of children with autism. Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah accompanied Sultan Abdullah to the launch event.

Following his speech, the King signed a plaque in honor of the hotel’s launch. Mercure Living Putrajaya, developed by Ikhasas Group, is a five-star hotel that was completed in 2019 and began operations in July 2022. The hotel boasts 453 rooms spread across 36 floors, featuring spacious layouts and contemporary furnishings.

In addition, the hotel is home to the only saltwater infinity pool in Putrajaya, measuring 52m long. During his speech, Tan Chee Kian, the managing director of Ikhasas Group, highlighted how Mercure Living Putrajaya supports the talents of disabled children.

Kian noted that all the artworks displayed in the rooms are created by Malaysian autistic children and stressed the commitment to continue this initiative in support of disabled children, following the guidance of Their Majesties. He also pointed out that it was a momentous day for the autistic children in attendance, as their wish to meet Their Majesties was fulfilled.
