KOTA KINABALU: A second statement was taken from Umno youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh by the police. Dr Muhamad Akmal, who had already provided his initial statement to the Kota Kinabalu police and was released at 12.10pm on Friday (April 5), was requested to return for further questioning at 12.15pm just as he was about to leave the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters. He shared that he was called back because the police had more questions for him.

“They had a few more additional questions for me, I answered them,” he mentioned briefly after leaving the Kota Kinabalu police headquarters at around 2.30pm. He also expressed gratitude towards the police for their treatment towards him.
After being arrested at the Kota Kinabalu airport upon arrival at 10.15am, Dr Muhamad Akmal was taken by the police to the station to have his statement recorded. He emerged from the station at 12:10 p.m. and spoke with reporters. However, as he was heading towards his car, a policeman called him back into the building for further clarifications.
