PETALING JAYA: The sight of 800 MCA members participating in the Selangor MCA state convention is inspiring, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
“It was a gathering of the old and new generations of Selangor MCA members,” wrote the MCA president in a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 25) after launching the convention at Dewan San Choon in Wisma MCA.
Dr Wee said that he hoped the veteran party members would encourage the new members and inspire the younger generation through their contributions to the party and the country.
“I encouraged the Selangor MCA members, under the leadership of state chairman Datuk Lawrence Low Ah Keong, to continue advancing party affairs and mobilising the members for election preparation.
“Political work has no shortcuts; we must show voters that MCA is a party with ideals, responsibilities, and the courage to voice its opinions, thereby earning their support,” wrote Dr Wee.
He also urged the Selangor MCA to encourage more young leaders to step forward and engage with the youth.
Additionally, our Wanita members should recruit more young women, including female university students, to participate in party activities, promoting higher education and defending women’s rights,” wrote Dr Wee.
