Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong took to Facebook on Monday (March 11) to extend his well wishes to all Muslims as they observe the holy month of Ramadan. He wished them a peaceful Ramadan and a fulfilling fasting period.

The announcement that Muslims in Malaysia will begin fasting on Tuesday (March 12) was made by the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, on Sunday (March 9).

During Ramadan, Muslims engage in fasting as a way to purify their hearts and minds while increasing their good deeds. Apart from refraining from food and drink from sunrise to sunset, they are encouraged to read the Quran and participate in the special Tarawih prayers held during the month.
