    Drug addicts found squatting in empty house, one caught, one escaped

    AMPANG: Police detained a 34-year-old woman suspected of being a drug addict after she was found squatting at an abandoned house in Taman Ukay Perdana in Ampang.

    The Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said a 25-year-old woman, who is a real estate agent, and her colleague went to the empty house for inspection on Tuesday morning.

    They found a man and a woman already inside the house. “The man managed to escape, but the woman was caught and handed over to the police from Taman Melawati police station,” he said.

    The woman tested positive for methamphetamine and has three prior criminal records. She has been remanded until Friday.

    The police are still searching for the male suspect, he added.
