KUALA LUMPUR: A drug dealer who conducted his business over the phone has been busted after a month’s surveillance by the police.
He was arrested on Thursday (Sept 5), Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Ravinder Singh Sarban told a press conference at district police headquarters here.
Around 65kg of cannabis was found during the arrest at a condominium in Cheras, he said on Wednesday (Sept 11).
Follow-up investigations led to another raid on a second condominium in Segambut, where police found an additional 3.1kg of cannabis along with packing equipment.
In total, the drugs seized were estimated to be worth just over RM200,000.
Investigations found that the suspect did not sell the drugs in packs of a standard weight but would customise orders to whatever weight his customers requested.
“He has been active since early this year and would sell the drugs in the Klang Valley.
“His supply is believed to originate from a person based in Kuala Lumpur.
“This arrest is the result of public information and our surveillance,” ACP Ravinder said.
He added that the police will apply to extend the remand order on the suspect when it ends on Thursday (Sept 12).
