A man suspected of being under the influence of drugs crashed into three vehicles yesterday, one of which belonged to the Tourism, Culture and Arts Minister. Only one driver suffered minor injuries.
According to Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, the incident took place at 7.25pm on Tuesday. The minister wasn’t in his car at the time, as he was having dinner nearby.
Earlier, motorcycle patrol units noticed a suspicious man in a pickup truck along Jalan 19/1. They tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled and collided with three parked cars near Plaza 33.
The suspect, a 43-year-old man, was arrested and tested positive for methamphetamines. He has been remanded for four days.
The investigation revealed that the suspect was driving a company vehicle. ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin urged the public to respect the law and cooperate with the police.
