Two Nepalese men were apprehended by authorities for shattering a store window in Taman Melawati while under the influence of alcohol. Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail explained that the store’s 33-year-old manager noticed the broken window upon reaching the establishment at approximately 8.30am on Friday, September 1st. “A review of the CCTV footage revealed that two inebriated individuals repeatedly struck the window until it shattered on Wednesday, August 30th,” he stated. “They subsequently left the scene,” he further added when contacted on Saturday, September 2nd.
An investigation led law enforcement to apprehend two Nepalese men, aged 21 and 22, at a mall in Taman Melawati around 2pm on Friday. “Both individuals were employed as shop assistants at the mall,” mentioned Asst Comm Mohd Azam. “The suspects had no prior criminal records and tested negative for drugs,” he supplemented.
According to ACP Mohd Azam, the incident transpired due to the intoxication of the two men following a drinking session. “Both individuals have been remanded, and we are currently investigating the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief,” stated Asst Comm Mohd Azam. “We will take firm action against anyone who violates the law,” he emphasized.
