    Duo arrested for cable theft in Kluang

    Police in Kluang have apprehended two individuals who are suspected of stealing cables in a village located in Simpang Renggam. The suspects, aged 27 and 29, are believed to be linked to at least six previous cable theft incidents in the Kluang area, according to Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh.

    The arrests took place around 9:30pm on March 19 following a report filed by a resident of Kampung Shaari in Simpang Renggam. ACP Bahrin mentioned that both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine, with one of them having a criminal and narcotics history, while the other also has a narcotics record.

    If convicted, the duo could potentially face a two-year jail sentence under Section 431A of the Penal Code for committing mischief. ACP Bahrin is encouraging individuals with any relevant information to come forward by visiting the nearest police station or contacting the Kluang police hotline at 07-776 6822.

    Additionally, authorities are investigating the possible involvement of the suspects in multiple cable theft cases within the Kluang district. The community is urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by reporting any suspicious activities they may come across.
