PETALING JAYA: The Election Commission (EC) has announced that a meeting will be held on August 3 to address matters regarding the upcoming by-elections for the Pulai parliamentary seat and the Simpang Jeram state seat. This decision comes after the EC received an official notification on Tuesday (July 25) from Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul and Johor state assembly Speaker Datuk Dr Mohd Fuad Zarkashi concerning the vacancies left by the passing of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.
With the meeting scheduled to take place, the EC aims to discuss and plan the necessary procedures and arrangements required for the by-elections. This includes establishing the election dates, addressing the appointment of polling stations and workers, as well as implementing other essential details that are crucial for the smooth running of the elections.
By-elections are necessary to fill the vacant seats in the Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state constituencies after the untimely demise of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub. These seats hold significant importance in Malaysia’s political landscape, thus making the upcoming by-elections crucial for the electorate to exercise their democratic rights.
Further information and updates regarding the by-elections will be provided by the EC following their meeting on August 3. Voters, political parties, and all relevant stakeholders are advised to stay informed and alert as the EC takes necessary measures to ensure a fair and lawful electoral process.
More updates will be available soon.
