KUALA LUMPUR: The disabled ehailing driver who said he was assaulted by a member of a VIP’s security detail is believed to be meeting Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

Checks revealed that Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) did not call up Ong Ing Keong, 46, on Wednesday (June 5).

He was, however, seen entering Bukit Aman at about 10.45am with Latheefa Koya and N. Surendran from Lawyers For Liberty (LFL).

Sources said Ong was meeting Razarudin there.

The IGP had earlier said police would call in Ong and the police officers involved in the case as part of the investigation.

A statement is expected to be issued once Ong and the lawyers leave Bukit Aman.

Previously, Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said they received a report from Ong at 1pm on May 28.

The victim claimed to have been assaulted by a member of a VIP’s security escort while waiting for a customer at the St Regis Hotel here.

Comm Rusdi said the victim then lodged a second police report at 9.59pm the same day, claiming the matter had been resolved amicably and he did not want to prolong the case.

However, the victim then claimed that he was offered RM800 to settle the matter.
