KUALA LUMPUR: Dr Zaliha Mustafa has announced that the eKasih system will now be integrated with the Central Database Hub (Padu) to ensure that those in need are not overlooked. This integration is comparable to how the eKasih system was previously linked with databases from other agencies such as the National Registration Department (NRD), Welfare Department, Finance Ministry, Education Ministry, and state zakat offices.
Originally established in 2007, the eKasih system serves as the national poverty database, aiming to provide support to individuals and households facing financial difficulties.
The Central Database Hub (Padu), which was recently launched, will encompass profiles of Malaysians and permanent residents aged 18 and above, facilitating a comprehensive overview of individuals and households in need of assistance.
The data within these profiles will be regularly updated through the integration of information from various sources, ensuring accuracy and relevance of the aid provided.
In response to a query by Shaharizukirnain Abd Kadir (PN-Setiu), Dr Zaliha outlined the government’s commitment to preventing any eKasih aid recipients from being left behind with the implementation of Padu.
