On Thursday (March 28), the Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Riayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah flew over the Pahang river to assess its condition, as parts of it had dried up due to the extreme hot weather caused by the El Nino phenomenon.
While flying back from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, the Sultan of Pahang took the opportunity to observe the state of the river and share his concerns through a Facebook post.
It is a known fact that the welfare and well-being of the people have always been a top priority for the Sultan of Pahang.
In response to the situation, Sultan Abdullah decreed for a ‘solat hajat’ to be conducted at all mosques and surau in Pahang on March 23 to seek divine intervention.
Following his directive, the Pahang Religious Department (JAIP) organized a special ‘solat hajat’ after the Isyak prayers with the hope of inducing rain.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department report, areas such as Rompin, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, Bera, and Raub experienced Level 1 hot weather until 4.30pm on Thursday (March 27). – Bernama
