The funeral of the elderly couple who were murdered on Saturday (Dec 9) took place at the Kampung Sungai Penchala Muslim Cemetery in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (Dec 10) night.
Rites for Agus Omar, 82, and Darlisma Nyatu Salleh, 72, were carried out at the Tengku Abdul Aziz Shah Jamek Mosque before their burial at the cemetery at 9.15pm. About 100 people, including family members, relatives, and neighbors, attended the funeral.
The couple were discovered in their home’s living room in pools of blood after allegedly being repeatedly stabbed by their 42-year-old son on Saturday evening.
The son was apprehended around 10.30pm at the Penchala Tunnel of the Sprint Highway and was taken to the Brickfields district police headquarters.
He tested positive for three types of drugs and was remanded for seven days starting today under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, according to Bernama.
