A 90-YEAR-OLD Japanese woman continues to work as a cleaner at a McDonald’s outlet in Kumamoto City, Japan. According to Sin Chew Daily, the nonagenarian works three hours a day, five days a week at the outlet, starting her shift at 7.30am and ending at 10.30am. Remarkably, she has not taken leave for the past 23 years. After retiring as a cleaner at a private university at the age of 67, she decided to rejoin the workforce. The woman expressed her happiness in being able to meet and talk to people from different backgrounds at her workplace. She added that her motivation increased when patrons expressed gratitude for her work. In addition to her job, she also enjoys gardening and keeps herself informed by watching television.
In another news report by China Press, Taiwanese sentimental singer Terry Lin Chih Hsuan experienced a mishap during one of his performances in Hefei, Anhui province, China. At the end of his One Take 2.0 concert on July 29, the 57-year-old Lin tripped over his own feet while running from one corner of the stage to the other to thank his fans. Despite wearing baggy pants, Lin managed to pick himself up after the fall, much to the relief of his fans. After the concert, he reassured his followers on social media, stating that he was fine and there was nothing to worry about. Lin gained fame after participating in the “I Am A Singer” competition organized by Hunan Television for established performers. He is scheduled to perform at the Arena of Stars at Genting Highlands on October 14.
