SHAH ALAM: A senior citizen who went missing during a hiking activity near Persiaran Shorea, Section U16, in Shah Alam was discovered deceased.
Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim stated that the man had embarked on a hiking trip at approximately 9.30am on Tuesday (March 26).
“Upon investigation, we learned that the man contacted his children when he realized he was unable to find his way back.
“Despite efforts by the Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Department to conduct a search and rescue operation, they were unable to locate him,” he stated in an announcement on Wednesday (March 27).
He mentioned that the 64-year-old man was found deceased by a member of the public at around 7.50pm on Wednesday.
“The body has been transferred to the Shah Alam Hospital for further procedures.
“We have classified the incident as a Sudden Death,” he explained, urging individuals with any information regarding the case to contact Insp Saipol Paizi at 012-578 1435.
