A male senior citizen was fatally injured when his motorcycle skidded and crashed into a stationary trailer in Kota Tinggi.
The incident took place on Friday (Oct 27) at KM47.5 Jalan Johor Baru-Mersing near the Panti Forest Reserve, according to Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora.
The 74-year-old victim was on his way to work towards Johor Baru at around 4.30am when the accident occurred, Supt Hussin reported.
It is suspected that the victim lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the back of the trailer, which was parked on the left side of the road shoulder.
The faulty engine had rendered the trailer immobile, causing it to be parked at that location since 10pm the previous night.
Supt Zamora shared that the victim sustained head injuries and the investigation is being carried out under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
