The Education Ministry has stated that there will be no tolerance for extremism and violence during the organization of Palestine Solidarity Week in schools and educational institutions under its jurisdiction. The Ministry has explicitly prohibited replica weapons, symbols, and icons that contain provocative and confrontational elements.

In order to promote humanitarian causes, the Education Ministry encourages activities such as peace-themed video screenings, poster painting competitions, recitals of humanitarian poetry, and fundraising efforts for the Palestinian people to be conducted throughout the week.

“All institutions under the Ministry have been instructed to adhere to the organizing guidelines. Palestine Solidarity Week should serve as a platform to educate students about noble values, tolerance, compassion, and mutual respect,” stated the Ministry.

A video clip, lasting 55 seconds, recently went viral on X and TikTok, featuring a man dressed as a militant carrying a replica rifle during a school program. This video sparked concerns among netizens. The Education Ministry acknowledged the public’s concerns and admitted that the program depicted in the viral video did not follow the Ministry’s guidelines.

The Education Ministry has also clarified that the video in question was not related to the Palestine Solidarity Week and occurred outside of the specified period.

Last Thursday (October 26), the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced that all educational institutions under its jurisdiction would be hosting Palestine Solidarity Week from October 29 to November 3. This decision was made in response to the government’s commitment to stand united in defending the rights and freedom of the Palestinian people.
