KLANG: Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has confirmed that all ten victims of the Elmina air crash have been identified. He stated, “We have identified all 10 of them. One victim’s body was released yesterday and the remaining nine will be released to their respective families today,” during a press conference at the Hospital Tengku Ampang Rahimah’s mortuary on Sunday (Aug 20). He explained that various pathology techniques were used to identify the victims, including matching fingerprints, DNA, and dental records. Comm Hussein also stated, “I can confirm there are no more victims to be identified.”
Furthermore, Comm Hussein mentioned that the police have recorded statements from several dashcam owners as part of their investigation. He added, “The investigation is ongoing and we will see if there is a need to call more individuals to assist the investigation.”
On Saturday night, Comm Hussein had previously announced that the remains of the remaining nine victims would be handed over to their families on Sunday, following the completion of the identification process and post-mortem examinations. The release of the remains will be done in stages, starting from 9am.

2. Datuk Seri Johar Harun, 53.
3. Muhammad Taufik Mohd Zaki, 37.
4. Khairil Azwan Jamaludin, 43.
5. Sharipudin Shaari, 51.
6. Shaharul Amir Omar, 49.
7. Mohammad Naim Fawwas Mohamed Muaidi, 35.
8. Idris Abdul Talib @ Ramali, 41.
9. Shahrul Kamal Roslan, 41.
10. Heikal Aras Abdul Azim, 45.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday (Aug 17) near the Elmina Township in Selangor. A total of 10 people lost their lives, including eight individuals on board the light aircraft. Additionally, an e-hailing driver and a food delivery rider on the road were killed when the plane crashed. The crash happened at around 2.40pm after the aircraft, which departed from Langkawi, lost communication with the control tower while being cleared to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.
