SUNGAI PETANI: It was a sombre afternoon at Masjid Al Huda in Kampung Jerong, as family, friends, and villagers gathered to bid farewell to p-hailing rider Muhamad Hafiz Muhamad Salleh. He was tragically killed in a plane crash incident on Guthrie Highway, Elmina, Shah Alam, on Thursday (Aug 17).
The remains of Muhammad Hafiz were brought from Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang at around 10am and were expected to arrive at approximately 2:30pm. His loved ones had anxiously awaited the arrival of his remains to pay their final respects.
The delivery rider, along with motorist Sharipuddin Shaari, lost their lives when the plane crashed. Other victims of the tragedy included first-term Pelangai state assemblyman and Pahang exco member Datuk Seri Johari Harun, pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim, and passengers Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki, and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali.
Let’s hope that their souls rest in peace.
