    Elmina plane crash: Identities of victims revealed

    Authorities have revealed the identities of the people who were onboard the plane which crashed near the Elmina Township based on the flight manifest. However, the identity of the motorist who also succumbed in the accident could not be identified.

    According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, the six passengers were Pelangai assemblyman Datuk Seri Johari Harun, Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali. The two crew members on the ill-fated plane were pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim.
    “The police have confirmed there were no survivors from the crash but the identity of the victims have to be confirmed through a forensic process which is being carried out by the hospital,” Loke said at a press conference at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Airport in Subang on Thursday (August 17).
    “The confirmed identities will be announced by the police later,” he added.
    Loke added that the identity of the two road users who were involved in the crash would be confirmed later by police.
    Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan who was also at the press conference said the bodies of the victims had disintegrated.
    “The bodies were not in perfect condition due to the impact,” he said.
    The bodies have been brought to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
    Loke also advised people against making any speculations as investigations are ongoing, adding more information will be given in the near future.
    The aircraft operated by Jetvalet Sdn Bhd departed from Langkawi International Airport at 2.08pm to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.
