An express bus driver and most of his 36 passengers were unharmed when the vehicle skidded and landed on its side along the North-South Expressway (NSE) near Kluang.
According to Renggam Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Abd Rahim Razali, an emergency call came in at 3.54am on Wednesday (Dec 27) regarding the incident at KM41.5 northbound near Simpang Renggam.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters assisted three victims who were trapped inside the bus, while others managed to escape with the help of others.
Of the 14 men on board, one suffered a broken leg, while the rest were unharmed. Meanwhile, of the 18 women on board, all but one were safe, with one sustaining neck injuries and another minor injuries. The four children on board and the bus driver were also unharmed. The injured victims were taken to the hospital.
