PUTRAJAYA: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali announced that the Cost of Living Aid (BSH) of RM300 per month will now be extended to non-pensionable veterans aged 60 and above, starting from September. This decision was made during the Cabinet Committee on Public Service Reform meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on August 7.
Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali further added that this extension would benefit a total of 41,970 non-pensionable veterans, resulting in an additional financial implication of RM151.1mil per year.
The government had previously announced special appreciation aid of RM300 for civil servants and RM200 for government pensioners, which will be distributed this Thursday, August 10.
In addition to the special appreciation aid, civil servants have also received various financial assistance this year, including a special additional annual salary increment of RM100, Aidilfitri Special Financial Assistance of RM700, and the 2023 Special Financial Assistance of RM700. All of these measures have been put in place to help alleviate the financial burdens faced by civil servants.
