    Falling tree crushes woman's car after she was done voting

    JOHOR BARU: A 57-year-old woman sustained injuries when a tree fell on her vehicle on Jalan Pertahanan in Taman Desa Rahmat while she was driving home after voting for the Pulai parliamentary seat. The incident was reported at 3.02pm on Saturday (Sept 9) to the Larkin Fire and Rescue Department.

    Mohd Shah Rizal Abdul Rahman, the operation commander for the Larkin Fire and Rescue Department, stated that the victim suffered an injury to her left thigh. A team of 10 personnel was dispatched to the scene for the rescue operation.

    The injured woman, identified as Mary Tan, had cast her vote at SMK Dato Abdul Rahman Yassin, which is located approximately 500m from the polling center. She was successfully extricated from her car and transported to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) for treatment. Two chainsaws were utilized to cut the fallen tree.

    The rescue operation concluded at 3.28pm.
