KUALA LUMPUR: Radin Mohd Nur Amri was shocked that his video call with his father on Dec 5 would be their final conversation. His father, Radin Abd Kharim Radin Mamfudz, 64, tragically passed away by a falling tree on Jalan Bukit Belacan Kampung Lembah Jaya Utara, Ampang, on Tuesday (Dec 19) afternoon. Nur Amri, 33, is the second of nine children and said that during the video call, his father had a chance to chat with his grandchildren.
“I had a video call with my father and the last time I met him was over a month ago. I work as a teacher and I didn’t have time to go back as I had extra classes to take, so I planned to meet my father during the school holidays,” he told Bernama when met near the Ampang Hospital’s Forensic Department here Tuesday night.
Nur Amri expressed deep sadness at his prolonged absence from his father’s side and the loss of the opportunity to see him. Radin Abd Kharim’s wife, Masitah Ahmad, 61, shared that he was on his way to meet friends near the Lembah Jaya area after sending their child for dialysis treatment at the Ampang Hospital.
The tragic incident occurred when a falling tree hit a car and a motorcycle at 3:51 pm, resulting in the immediate death of Radin Abd Kharim and the motorcyclist, Muhammad Hisyammuddin Ahmad Syakif, 23, at the Ampang Hospital.
Ahmad Shakif Mohd, 53, the father of Muhammad Hisyammuddin, expressed that his son’s passing was a profound loss. “My son was a cheerful, kind soul and a child who helped in every way and never troubled anyone,” he said. Meanwhile, Lembah Jaya assemblyman Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman vowed to work with the Selangor state government to expedite aid for the families of the victims through the state’s General Insurance Scheme (Insan). – Bernama
