Fast lane along Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway to be closed

The fast lanes on Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway at The Light Waterfront in George Town will be closed temporarily to make way for the construction of an interchange, according to a statement by developer IJM Land. The closure will affect the fast lanes in each direction bound for George Town and Bayan Lepas, and will be in effect from October 15 until March 31 next year. The closure is necessary to facilitate construction works on the median of the expressway, including road widening and the construction of new elevated ramps connecting The Light Waterfront Penang and widening of Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway. These upgrades aim to strengthen the current infrastructure and will benefit the public significantly. IJM Land acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the closure and assures the public that a comprehensive traffic management plan will be implemented to minimize disruptions during the construction period. Road users are advised to exercise caution when approaching the work area.
