KLANG: A man lost his life after a container fell on him while he was attempting to move his car at Taman Sri Sentosa, Klang.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong reported that the incident took place on Tuesday (July 25) at 5.09pm.
“We received a call to report that a container had collapsed on an individual along Jalan Dato Jusof Shahbudin 29A. Our personnel immediately rushed to the scene,” stated Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong in a press release on Wednesday (July 26).
According to Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong, upon investigation, it was discovered that the container trailer had been parked there alongside other vehicles.
The victim had parked his car next to the container trailer and had left momentarily to purchase food.
“The man noticed that the container was tilting to one side, prompting him to hurriedly return to his vehicle to move it,” Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong explained.
“Unfortunately, while he was making his way to his car, the container toppled over, crushing both him and his vehicle,” he added. It was revealed during the investigation that the ground beneath the trailer was soft and waterlogged, causing the trailer to tip.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was subsequently transported to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
