The Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) has issued a show cause letter to the company responsible for the trailer that crashed into a group of stationary vehicles in Putrajaya on September 20, killing two motorcyclists and injuring seven others. Apad stated on September 21 that it can suspend or cancel licenses under Section 62 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010 if the investigation uncovers any violation of service license conditions by the company.
Apad emphasized its commitment to prioritizing public safety and not compromising on any offenses of dangerous driving by land public transport vehicles resulting in accidents. The agency expressed deep regret over the incident and stated that preliminary investigations have revealed that the trailer had a Class C carrier license. Apad underscored that it takes public safety concerns seriously and is collaborating with relevant agencies to obtain necessary reports before deciding on any further actions regarding the operating company. – Bernama
